About Me

Hey! I'm Mateus Trentz.

I was born in Brazil but moved to Portugal in late 2022. I graduated in Chemical Engineering and spent a year studying abroad in Denmark. I've always been interested in technology, though, and over time, as I picked up programming and started working with data as a hobby, I ended up making the full transition into tech.

I love learning new things and have many hobbies, but playing guitar is the one that I like the most. I've been playing both classical and electrical guitar for a few years, and I practice almost every day. I'm never bored, on the contrary, there are always too many things that I want to learn. The real challenge for me is staying focused and not getting sidetracked all the time.

When it comes to work, I'm very self-sufficient, always looking to fill in the gaps in my knowledge, which is why I consider myself a generalist. To make things easier for myself, my approach to work is to keep things simple, and that has been working well for me, especially in the environment in which I'm most familiar, which are small and medium-sied companies and small teams.

What I enjoy most about working in tech, and why I have no regrets about making this my career, is the low barrier to turning ideas into real projects. I've always learned best by building things, and the ability to experiment, test ideas, and quickly bring them to life is what keeps me engaged. This is where I'm at my best, getting my ideas into production.
