Business Intelligence Dashboard

Building dashboards isn't just about creating charts that look impressive, it's about clarity, precision, and helping users understand the data quicker. I've found that the best dashboards are the simplest ones: basic chart types, or at least as complex as they need to be, sticking to the point and designed to highlight what truly matters.

  • Effective Dashboards: Creating dashboards that are user-friendly and understandable at a glance, making sure to avoid clutter and unnecessary complexity.
  • Self-Serviceable BI: Investing the time to create clear and concise dashboards, backed by powerful data marts, in which the users can answer their business questions without specialized assistance.
  • BI Strategy & Implementation: With experience across every stage of BI development, I'm used to leading end-to-end business intelligence projects, from gathering the data to automating the necessary processes, and building amazing visualizations.

Tech Stack

I've worked with both commercial and open-source BI tools, but I've also explored other ways to visualize data beyond traditional BI platforms, such as web-based dashboards and custom charting solutions. I believe a strong data analytics foundation, paired with a well-structured data warehouse, makes the BI process much smoother and more effective.

  • Business Intelligence: Started my career with three years of working with Tableau, now working primarily with the open-source Apache Superset.
  • Charting Libraries: Extensive experience with Python charting libraries (matplotlib, seaborn) and web-based visualizations (Chart.js). I've explored a wide range of visualization methods, from static reports to interactive dashboards.
  • Data Warehousing: With deep experience in data modeling and using dbt (data build tool), I know what structures work best for BI, ensuring optimized queries and well-organized data marts that make analysis seamless.
